Let's follow the incentive: who benefits from making us believe that a simple Google Forms survey explains why 75% of people check their documents in advance and 25% at the last minute?
The fact that 78 people aged 18 to 50 filled out a questionnaire about their planning habits does not explain the underlying motive behind their behavior regarding identity documents.
Here, in Portugal, caution is not just a matter of planning, but of administrative delays that require anticipating the renewal of a cartão de cidadão to avoid any problems.

The integration of the accuracy at 75% of travelers verifying their documents weeks in advance enhances our understanding. It pushes us to refine our identity document verification model to be optimized for the majority, while managing the asymmetry of the remaining 25%. The peak of efficiency is there: a bifurcated process, it is the path to full expression.

I’m glad you appreciated the clarity; that’s always the goal, without the usual varnish.

Let's get rid of the media hype: a study of 78 people on Google Forms is an indication, not a revealed truth about complex behaviors.
In Germany, for example, people do not check their papers weeks in advance out of vacation habit, but due to legal necessity and fear of administrative sanctions.
This survey does not prove the deep motivation behind these actions; it captures a result but ignores practical constraints.
The cash flow or real behaviors that change tomorrow are dictated by law, not by a survey about beach desires.

Adequacy is never enough to fully understand the behavioral dynamics.
A simple survey, even if it provides figures on verification of identity documents, does not explain the “why” behind these actions.
To reach the peak of efficiency, one should probe the deep cause of procrastinating behaviors of the 25% who act at the last minute, perhaps related to a lack of tools or incentives.
For example, knowing that 75% verify in advance does not help transform the remaining 25% if we ignore their motivation levers or their real constraints.

Drop the glossy hype and ask: does this really change the game for the average traveler or the cash flow of a company?
A survey on Google Forms, even with 78 responses, does not prove much about the real cause behind document verification.
It is only a descriptive observation, not a solid explanation of why 75% act this way, while for 25% vacation planning is done at the last minute.
For example, in Germany, checking documents is a bureaucratic necessity dictated by compliance, not just a vacation habit.
