I am allergic to all this media hype about fiction as a starting point for travel, let's be serious for a moment.
Honestly, I have seen tourist guides inspire trips long before I ever thought of a book or a film.
How many times have I flipped through a Ulysse or Lonely Planet guide, just for fun, and discovered places I had never heard of, like Gaspésie?
Fiction is good for dreaming, but the guide itself is concrete; it provides hotels, prices, and things to do.

Their role is more to spark curiosity and turn it into a concrete adventure, by offering an unexpected third way.
