My intuition tells me that the idea of travel inspiration through fiction and the use of tourist guides is not just a sub-part.
It rather feels like a sequence of distinct steps where one triggers the other but does not contain it.
I have the impression that we oversimplify the process: one can dream while reading a book, but it is only after deciding to go that one starts browsing a travel guide.
We should see if people buy a tourist guide right after watching a film, with no concrete travel intention, to confirm or deny this intuition.
Otherwise, the guide is a planning tool that comes after inspiration.
