A guide can very well be the initial source and complete inspiration, without any fiction work intervening, like a detailed hiking guide describing breathtaking trails, sparking the desire to leave.
Fiction can sow an idea, but the guide offers the concrete framework, practical details, and often an objective reason to travel, which is crucial for many vacationers.
Just because a novel features a place doesn't make the guide on that place a mere “sub-part” of inspiration.
For example, a specialized guide on Belgian gastronomy can alone inspire a culinary trip long before a film makes it popular.
