My opinion is evolving: the probability that the healing of a paralytic would standardize the understanding of a complex teaching is, in my view, low, decreasing from 20% to only 10%. This type of event is a demonstration of power that can inspire faith, but does not absolutely guarantee a homogeneous interpretation of profound ideas. Crowds, especially in Japan, interpret signals through a filter of consensus and local particularities. For example, even after a spectacular miracle, a discussion on the nature of the Kingdom of God will inevitably generate significant divergences, based on preconceptions and individual expectations of each person.
