It's a competition, not a seminar: the term "limited in time" for the round table proposed by the Legal Services Board makes it lose its advantage from the start. An ephemeral initiative cannot dominate the debate nor effectively align with the Ministry of Justice's multi-year research priorities. For this link to be more than a coincidence, there would need to be an explicit mandate from the round table to produce deliverables that directly feed these priorities, such as recommendations on access to justice or unregulated legal services. Without such a clear mechanism, the influence of the MoJ's priorities remains conditional, not a decisive driver for the event. The gain in influence is therefore minimal.
