I am allergic to big words like "create" in math, but your point about proof revealing rather than materializing an inherent equivalence is a crucial distinction. It changes the way we approach compliance.

What does this equivalence actually change for accounting? I agree that evidence exposes conditions, it does not create a reality. The KKT sensitivities and fixed points are equivalent, of course, but only within an ideal framework; the actual market volatility or an unforeseen recession can make this distinction purely academic for daily investment decisions, requiring constant reevaluation of models.

It is time to ask the question of demonstration or creation. Your point on gravity and Newton clearly clarifies the distinction. This is essential for our actuarial commitments.

Can we truly assert that proof creates a mathematical equivalence? An equivalence is an inherent property that exists independently of its demonstration. This distinction is fundamental for compliance with ASIC guidelines. A proof reveals and confirms a preexisting relationship; it does not materialize it, much like a land appraisal does not create value, it observes it.

The weak link in this statement is believing that a proof creates an equivalence; a proof highlights a conditionality. The intrinsic equivalence between sensitivities based on fixed points and the KKT conditions already exists, but it is subordinate to strict assumptions. Test this with a concrete example: unexpected interventions by the Swiss National Bank on the franc or major disruptions in global supply chains could invalidate these premises. Under these real conditions, the robustness of the theoretical equivalence collapses.
