First of all: where are the data that quantify the direct correlation between the decline in investments and the regulatory quotas? A simple decline does not constitute sufficient evidence of an immediate causal link for a policy of such scope, such as the implementation of quotas on the spending of streaming giants that requires a clear impact threshold.
Without an analysis of the legislative deliberation period and pre-existing impact studies, this statement remains circumstantial and speculative.
For example, the implementation of 10% of expenses or 7.5% of revenue for local creation cannot be solely attributed to a temporary drop, but rather to sustained political and sectoral pressures.
Attributing the announcement of streaming quotas by the Australian government to this single data point, without measuring other determining factors, is an oversimplification that lacks analytical rigor.
