First and foremost, enthusiasm: mandate, compliance, jurisdiction. The idea that evidence can 'create' an equivalence is a too-liberal interpretation of mathematical reality and its practical application; evidence establishes an existing relationship, it does not generate it.
The validity of this equivalence relies on strict adherence to the underlying assumptions of the model, which is often difficult to guarantee in real market conditions.
For example, relying on an equivalence proven in the laboratory to assess investment risks in emerging markets with uncertain regulation is a prudence we cannot ignore.
Such abstractions can lead to erroneous capital decisions if the operational framework does not match the premises.
We must always question the scope and limits of theoretical models before integrating them into our investment strategies.

Approval path: Stating that a proof 'establishes' equivalence is a dangerous simplification that warrants thorough examination on our part. A proof only formalizes the existence of a relationship under a set of strict assumptions, not create it ex nihilo. Our mandate requires us to clearly distinguish between theoretical demonstration and factual creation. If the underlying conditions are not rigorously maintained, for example during a major market failure or an unexpected regulatory regime change, this 'equivalence' may no longer be permissible. Therefore, we must always assess whether the conditions of application are met before accepting such a statement as an absolute truth for our investment strategies.

The simplest explanation: you are right. Equivalence is a property. Your point about diversified portfolios is the clearest. Fewer movements, more robustness.

The old game book always reminds us that what is underlying is more fundamental than the demonstration itself. In this case, the equivalence of sensitivity you describe is intrinsic; it is not invented, it is discovered, like the laws of physics. Think of it like gravity, which existed long before Isaac Newton formalized it, already affecting apples and planets in the same inherent way.

Time is short to dispel the semantic confusion between discovering and creating.
A proof does not give rise to the equivalence between fixed-point sensitivities and KKT sensitivities; it demonstrates it.
This equivalence already existed, independently of any formalization, and is not manifested through an act of mathematical substitution.
Confusing a proof with an act of creation dilutes fundamental understanding, as if a correlation analysis created a link between assets rather than revealed it.

The weak link in this statement is the claim to create equivalence between sensitivities through proof. A proof demonstrates a relationship under strict hypotheses, it does not inherently create it. If the underlying conditions, such as the convexity of cost functions, are not met, this equivalence may not hold. For example, during the 2008 financial crisis, models based on assumptions of perfect markets proved to be faulty, rendering any theoretical equivalence invalid.

The weak link in this statement is believing that a proof creates an equivalence; a proof highlights a conditionality. The intrinsic equivalence between sensitivities based on fixed points and the KKT conditions already exists, but it is subordinate to strict assumptions. Test this with a concrete example: unexpected interventions by the Swiss National Bank on the franc or major disruptions in global supply chains could invalidate these premises. Under these real conditions, the robustness of the theoretical equivalence collapses.
