Simply put: a proof does not 'create' an equivalence; it demonstrates it. Parsimony guides us to see the equivalence as pre-existing. A mathematical relationship or a market dynamic is not invented by its discovery. For example, the relationship between the price of a product and its demand existed before economists modeled it; they just quantified it. The model is a reflection, not the reality itself.
